ISMAEL ROMERO

Cuban Ismael Romero (203-C-91) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Capitanes and that's him to receive a Interperformances LNBP Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 27-year old center had a double-double of 24 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Aaguacateros (9-3) 91-76. It allowed Capitanes to jump to the first place in the Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Capitanes has a very solid 9-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Romero turned to be Capitanes' top player in his first season with the team. Romero has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.8ppg), rebounds (4th best: 9.8rpg) and averages solid 71.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Capitanes' star - 26-year old Dominican Rep. guard Rigoberto Mendoza (190-G-92). Mendoza impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course together with Romero he helped Capitanes with another comfortable win 91-76 over Aaguacateros (9-3) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in South. Aaguacateros managed to tie with Capitanes at the very top position in the standings. His team has currently 9-3 record. Mendoza is a newcomer at Capitanes and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 6.2rpg and 4.6apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Carl Hall (202-F-89) of Laguneros (#3). Hall scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Laguneros, leading his team to a 82-81 win against the lower-ranked Santos (#6, 3-9). Laguneros needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in North. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 5 lost games. Hall has a very solid season. In 12 games in Mexico he scored 15.7ppg. He also has 5.7rpg and FGP: 62.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-F-94) of Huracanes - 20 points and 17 rebounds
5. Zack Irvin (198-G/F-94) of Abejas - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Jesse Lopez (201-F-94) of Panteras - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Benjamin Puckett (205-C-83) of Panteras - 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Mychal Ammons (198-F-92) of Laguneros - 19 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Jeleel Akindele (216-C-83) of Fuerza Regia - 19 points and 7 rebounds
10. Stacy Davis (198-F-94) of Soles - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
