Here is the weekly review of the top performing Mexican players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international point guard Paul Stoll (180-85, currently plays in Israel). He led Maccabi Ashdod to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Ironi Nahariya (2-5) 92-86 in the Israeli Winner League in Monday night's game. Stoll was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 30 points and making 11 passes. Stoll also added and 6 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!) in 36 minutes on the court. Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia (2-2) is placed fifth in the Winner League. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Stoll has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 19.4ppg, 4.6rpg, 8.2apg, 4.0spg, 2FGP: 52.4%, 3FGP: 35.4% in five games he played so far. Stoll is a naturalized American. He is currently a member of the Mexican senior national team. Stoll used to play for Algodoneros de La Comarca - Torreon in Mexican league.

Gustavo Ayon

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St., currently plays in Spain). He contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Gipuzkoa (2-7) crushing them 104-71 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Ayon scored 6 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Real Madrid (8-1) is placed second in the Liga Endesa. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Ayon's fifth year with the team. His overall stats this season are: 5.6ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 54.2%. Ayon is in the roster of the Mexican senior national team.

   #3. The Mexican player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Alexander Perez Kaufmann (191-93, agency: Pro Sports, currently plays in Turkey). He was the main contributor in Banvit's surprising victory against the league leader Pinar Karsiyaka (7-1) 84-75 in the Turkish BSL on Saturday night. Perez Kaufmann was the best player in that game. He recorded 21 points and added 6 assists in 33 minutes. Banvit Basketbol Kulubu (1-5) is placed second from the bottom (#14) in the BSL. They ended the series of five consecutive loses. Perez Kaufmann has relatively good stats this year: 14.2ppg, 2.2rpg, 5.7apg, 2FGP: 51.2%, 3FGP: 36.4% in six games. Ex-Soles de Mexicali player is also a member of the Mexican senior national team.

   #4. Guard Francisco Cruz (190-89, college: Wyoming, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) could not help Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (3-4) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the fifth-placed Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (3-4) was defeated 78-67 on the road by the higher-ranked Lietkabelis (#4) in the group C of Basketball Champions League. Cruz was the top scorer with 20 points. This season Cruz has relatively solid stats: 14.6ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.7apg. He is also Mexican national team player.

   #5. International guard Jorge Gutierrez (191-88, college: California, currently plays in Spain) faced previously mentioned Gustavo Ayon in the Spanish Liga Endesa last game. Gutierrez was not able to help Gipuzkoa in their game against Real Madrid (8-1). He scored 8 points and had 3 steals in only 13 minutes. The bottom-ranked Gipuzkoa was crushed 104-71 in Madrid by the second-ranked Real. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. This year Gutierrez's overall stats are: 5.9ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg in nine games. He plays currently for the Mexican national team.

   #6. Point guard Bryan Urrutia (185-97, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to secure a victory for the Md-E Shore in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Urrutia's good performance his team was crushed 80-42 at home by the Mercer University. He scored 12 points and had 4 steals. Urrutia's total stats this season are: 6.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 4.5apg and 2.8spg. He is university international player as he played for the Mexican team one years ago.

Diego Willis
Diego Willis
   #7. International guard Diego Willis (190-99, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the NJIT in their game against the Cornell University in the NCAA. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Willis scored only 3 points. his team was defeated 86-73 in Ithaca by the Cornell University. It's Willis' first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 2.3ppg and 2.0rpg. Willis is also Mexican national team player.

Cesar Molina
Cesar Molina
   #8. Point guard Cesar Molina (183-98, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to an easy victory against the Haskell Indian Nations University (4-6) 88-70 in the NCAA2 in Wednesday night's game. He scored 14 points and added 5 passes. The Fort Lewis College has record this season. Molina's total stats this year are: 9.0ppg, 1.3rpg, 3.3apg and 2.3spg. He used to play for the Mexican U18 national team back in 2014.


The list of other players, who all have Mexican passport but never been selected to any of Mexican national teams:

   #1. Jimmy Villalobos (190-F-93, college: Westminster, MO, currently plays in El Salvador). Villalobos could not help ExSAL ST (11-5) to beat Brujos Izalco (9-7). He recorded 9 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 34 minutes. But ExSAL ST was edged 65-63 at home by the lower-ranked (#6) Brujos Izalco. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Villalobos' total stats are: 6.1ppg and 3.9rpg in 12 games he played so far.

   #2. Salvador Cuevas led Ameghino to a victory against the sixth-ranked Deportivo Norte (4-6) 102-90 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) on Friday night. He scored 12 points in a mere 16 minutes. Juventud Ameghino de Villa Maria (4-4) is placed fourth in North - C.North group. It was Ameghino's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Cuevas averages only 1.8ppg in eight games.

BRONSON KOENIG Vaqueros de Bayamon (BSN) added to their roster 24-year old American guard Bronson Koenig (192-82kg-94, college: Wisconsin, agency: BeoBasket). He just played at Mineros in Mexican LNBP. Koenig managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In two LNBP games he recorded 13.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.5apg this season.
