ISMAEL ROMERO

Cuban Ismael Romero (203-C-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Capitanes and that's him to receive a Interperformances LNBP Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 27-year old center had a double-double of 21 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team beat Laguneros (#5, 8-7) 105-93. It allowed Capitanes to consolidate first place in the Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Capitanes has a very solid 11-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Romero turned to be Capitanes' top player in his first season with the team. Romero has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.9ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 10.1rpg) and averages solid 70.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old American power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-F/C-88) of Libertadores. DeVaughn impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Libertadores lost that game 111-116 to slightly higher-ranked Correcaminos (#4, 8-7). Libertadores managed to keep the same 6th spot in North. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Libertadores managed to get this year. DeVaughn is well-known by Libertadores fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. Stillman College alumni DeVaughn played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was American Benjamin Puckett (205-C-83) of Panteras (#4). Puckett scored 26 points and grabbed five rebounds. Despite Puckett's great performance Panteras lost 88-99 to slightly lower-ranked Santos (#6, 6-9). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Panteras needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in North. Their record is 8 victories and 7 lost games. Puckett has a very solid season. In 7 games in Mexico he scored 10.9ppg. He also has 7.7rpg and FGP: 55.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Glen Rice Jr. (198-G/F-91) of Aaguacateros - 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Jose David Estrada (194-G-94) of Correcaminos - 34 points and 3 assists
6. Orlando Mendez-Valdez (175-PG-86) of Soles - 21 points, 2 rebounds and 9 assists
7. Hameed Ali (188-G-93) of Panteras - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 13 assists
8. Javier Mojica (190-SG-84) of Lenadores - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Brent Jackson (193-G/F-94) of Libertadores - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Noe Alonzo (200-PF-83) of Aaguacateros - 26 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over. With more than forty-eight years of experience, INTERPERFORMANCES is well known to all professional teams and clubs. General Managers trust and rely on our opinions and recommendations.

LNBP Round 33: Fuerza Regia defeats Mineros in the game between Top 4 teams - 8 hours ago
Here is the last round review presented by ESL. An interesting game for Fuerza Regia (25-7) which hosted in Monterrey second-best Mineros (23-9). First ranked Fuerza Regia managed to get a 10-point victory 83-73. Fuerza Regia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
