Argentina clinched their World Cup berth. They toppled Mexico in La Rioja to seal their fate. Luis Scola (206-F/C-80) posted 22 points and 9 rebounds in the win.
Argentina recorded a 24:15 lead after the opening frame. They maintained the lead throughout the second term. Argentina accounted for a 39:30 halftime lead. The hosts went on a strong 32:13 rally in the third term to clear off for good. Nicolas Laprovittola (190-G-90) and Marcos Delia (211-C-92, agency: Best of You Sports) produced 13 points each for the winning side. Gabriel Giron (192-G-88) responded with 20 points for Mexico.
