BENJAMIN PUCKETT

35-year old center Benjamin Puckett (205-C-83) had a very impressive game in the last round for Panteras and receives a Interperformances LNBP Player of the Week award for round 20.
He had the game-high 31 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Panteras in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Fuerza Regia (#2, 13-6) 114-111. Panteras maintains the 4th position in their group in Mexican LNBP. Panteras is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-10 record. In the team's last game Puckett had a remarkable seven three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Panteras' top player in his first season with the team. Benjamin Puckett averages this season 13.6ppg and 7.5rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Yancy Gates (206-C/F-89) of Abejas. He is American in his first season at Abejas. In the last game Gates recorded impressive 28 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Abejas to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Santos (#6, 7-11) 107-84. Abejas' 5th position in North has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-11 record. Gates is a newcomer at Abejas and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-F/C-88) of Libertadores (#6). DeVaughn scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Libertadores, leading his team to a 78-74 win against slightly higher-ranked Laguneros (#5, 9-10). The chances of Libertadores ranking at the top of North, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, DeVaughn could help Libertadores to bring them higher in the standings. DeVaughn has a great season in Mexico. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.4ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 10.5rpg (2nd best). DeVaughn attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Stedmon Lemon (198-F-92) of Panteras - 33 points and 3 rebounds
5. Jesse Lopez (201-F-94) of Panteras - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Carlos Rivera (187-PG-83) of Fuerza Regia - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Jeleel Akindele (216-C-83) of Fuerza Regia - 27 points and 11 rebounds
8. Hector Hernandez (205-PF-85) of Capitanes - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Bryan Davis (206-F/C-86) of Angeles - 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Ismael Romero (203-C-91) of Capitanes - 23 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
