The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Top ranked Capitanes (13-6) recorded its sixth loss on the court of third ranked Lenadores on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Lenadores 105-92. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Capitanes. Lenadores looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American-Lebanese power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) fired 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Jorge Camacho (203-89, college: E.Kentucky) chipped in 18 points. Lenadores' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Gabriel Giron (192-88) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Newly promoted Lenadores maintains third place with 10-8 record having eight points less than leader Capitanes. Capitanes at the other side still keep top position with six games lost. Lenadores are looking forward to face Angeles (#7) in Puebla in the next round. Capitanes will play against the league's leader Mineros (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Sixth-ranked Libertadores (7-12) made lots of trouble for second ranked Fuerza Regia (14-6) in Monterrey. Fuerza Regia managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds. Jeleel Akindele contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Reggie Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for Libertadores. Fuerza Regia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-6 record having just two points less than leader Capitanes. Libertadores at the other side keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Fuerza Regia will play against Panteras (#4) in Aguascalientes in the next round. Libertadores will play at home against Laguneros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Santos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Abejas (#5) in Guanajuato and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ciudad Victoria. Third ranked Soles faced 4th placed Correcaminos. Guests from Mexicali (12-8) defeated host Correcaminos (10-10) 94-89. Avry Holmes fired 29 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Soles moved-up to second place. Loser Correcaminos keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Soles will face Huracanes (#7) in Tampico in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.

Other games of round 19 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Angeles were defeated by Huracanes in Tampico 76-70. Fuerza Regia beat Libertadores at home 85-74. Panteras lost to Mineros on the opponent's court 67-83. Abejas outscored Laguneros in a home game 103-84.




Santos - Aaguacateros 84-75

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Aaguacateros (11-9) against sixth ranked Santos (8-12) on Friday night. Visiting Aaguacateros were defeated by Santos in a tough game in San Luis Potosi 75-84. Santos made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward BJ West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Chris Cayole (201-85, college: St.Michael's) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side the former international Noe Alonzo (200-83, college: Grand Canyon) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and American Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) scored 6 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Santos maintains sixth place with 8-12 record. Loser Aaguacateros keep the third position with nine games lost. Santos will meet higher ranked Abejas (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aaguacateros will have a break next round.

There was a minor upset in Tampico where 7th ranked Angeles (5-15) were defeated by seventh ranked Huracanes (3-17) 76-70 on Thursday. American forward Curtis Withers (203-84, college: Charlotte, agency: Interperformances) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) chipped in 17 points. American power forward Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and Puerto Rican point guard Filiberto Rivera (189-82, college: UTEP) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Angeles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Huracanes maintains seventh place with 3-17 record which they share with defeated Angeles. Angeles lost fifth consecutive game. Angeles at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Huracanes will face league's second-placed Soles in Mexicali in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Laguneros' players. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) fired 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Michael Smith (193-95, college: Cal.Baptist) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and guard Rayes Gallegos (188-90, college: Nebraska) added 14 points respectively for lost side. BRONSON KOENIG Vaqueros de Bayamon (BSN) added to their roster 24-year old American guard Bronson Koenig (192-82kg-94, college: Wisconsin, agency: BeoBasket). He just played at Mineros in Mexican LNBP. Koenig managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In two LNBP games he recorded 13.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.5apg this season.
