There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Capitanes (16-9) in San Luis Potosi on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Santos (10-16) 107-101. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Capitanes. Santos made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Lyonell Gaines (198-93, college: Morehead St., agency: Best of You Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import forward BJ West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) helped adding 18 points and 19 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91) with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Santos maintains sixth place with 10-16 record. Capitanes at the other side still keep top position with nine games lost. Santos are looking forward to face higher ranked Aaguacateros (#3) in Michoacan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Capitanes will play against Lenadores and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in . Third ranked Aaguacateros (14-10) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging leader Mineros (20-6) 82-81 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Mineros. It was an exceptional evening for American center Maurice Sutton (211-89, college: Villanova) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Tyrone White accounted for 14 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Joaquin Villanueva (207-86) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for Mineros in the defeat. Aaguacateros maintains third place with 14-10 record having just three points less than leader Mineros. Mineros at the other side still keep top position with six games lost. Aaguacateros will play against Santos (#6) in San Luis Potosi in the next round. Mineros will play on the road against Panteras (#4) in Aguascalientes and hope to get back on the winning track.
Fifth-ranked Abejas (11-15) gave a tough game to third ranked Lenadores (15-9) on Saturday. Lenadores managed to secure only one-point victory 98-97. However their fans expected easier game. The best player for the winners was Jarrid Famous who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Gary Ricks who recorded 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Lenadores have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted Lenadores maintains third place with 15-9 record behind leader Mineros. Abejas lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 15 games lost. Lenadores will meet league's leader Capitanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Abejas will play against Laguneros (#5) in Torreon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in Torreon. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Laguneros (11-13) to seventh ranked Angeles (8-18) 66-65 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Laguneros. It was a good game for Carlos Lopez-Sosa who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Newly promoted Angeles maintains seventh place with 8-18 record. Laguneros at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fifth position with 13 games lost. Angeles' next round opponent will be Huracanes (#7) in Tampico. Laguneros will play at home against Abejas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Ciudad Victoria. 4th placed host Correcaminos (13-13) lost to fourth ranked Panteras (13-13) 108-93. It was a great evening for Stedmon Lemon who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Panteras maintains fourth place with 13-13 record, which they share with defeated Correcaminos. Panteras will face league's leader Mineros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Correcaminos will play against the league's second-placed Soles in Mexicali and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 27 Libertadores lost to Huracanes on the opponent's court 86-96. Fuerza Regia managed to outperform Soles in a home game 77-70.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists by Jeleel Akindele of Fuerza Regia.



Santos - Capitanes 107-101

The best player for the winners was American-Lebanese power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St.) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) who recorded 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Juan Esteva-Hernandez (198-83) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Lenadores and five Abejas players scored in double figures. Lenadores have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Huracanes made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. American point guard Jeffery Stubbs (189-91, college: Jackson St.) helped adding 21 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was American power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import forward Reggie Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. They outrebounded Soles 44-28 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fuerza Regia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) helped adding 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia's coach Francisco Olmos used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Rayvonte Rice (193-92, college: Illinois) with 23 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Branden Dawson (198-93, college: Michigan St.) scored 17 points and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fuerza Regia. They maintain second place with 19-7 record having just four point less than leader Mineros which they share with defeated Soles.
