ONZIE BRANCH

27-year old forward Onzie Branch (198-F-91) put on an amazing game in the last round for Abejas and receives a Interperformances LNBP Player of the Week award for round 32.
He had a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds, while his team crushed Capitanes (#1, 20-11) with 16-point margin 93-77. Abejas maintains the 5th position in their group in Mexican LNBP. Abejas is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-19 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Branch as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Onzie Branch averages this season 10.0ppg and 5.6rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Gerard DeVaughn (206-F/C-88) of Libertadores. He is American forward in his second season at Libertadores. In the last game DeVaughn recorded impressive double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Libertadores to another comfortable win 104-89 over slightly lower-ranked Angeles (#7, 10-20) being unquestionably team leader. Libertadores' 6th position in South has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-19 record. DeVaughn is well-known at Libertadores and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#6). He also registered 10.0 boards per game. Former Stillman College star DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-F-89) of league's leader Capitanes. Oglivie scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Oglivie's great performance Capitanes lost 77-93 to the lower-ranked Abejas (#5, 13-19). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Capitanes needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in South. Their record is 20 victories and 11 lost games. Oglivie has a very solid season. In 30 games in Mexico he scored 11.6ppg. He also has 5.1rpg and FGP: 61.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Branden Dawson (198-F-93) of Soles - 22 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Yancy Gates (206-C/F-89) of Abejas - 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Martin Samarco (190-G-85) of Huracanes - 35 points and 2 rebounds

10. Mychal Ammons (198-F-92) of Laguneros - 25 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
