American Anthony Young (200-F-89) had a great game in the last round for Libertadores and that's him to receive a Interperformances LNBP Player of the Week award for round 34. The 29-year old forward had the game-high 34 points adding seven rebounds for Libertadores in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Panteras (#4, 16-16) 110-109. Libertadores maintains the 6th position in their group in Mexican LNBP. Libertadores is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-20 record. In the team's last game Young had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Libertadores, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Anthony Young averages just after three games 27.7ppg and 6.3rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old Puerto Rican forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-F-90) of Angeles. Lopez-Sosa impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Angeles lost that game 80-86 to the higher-ranked Aaguacateros (#3, 17-11). Angeles managed to keep the same 7th spot in South. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-21 record. Lopez-Sosa is a newcomer at Angeles and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was American Hameed Ali (188-G-93) of Panteras (#4). Ali scored 29 points and passed eleven assists (!!!). Despite Ali's great performance Panteras lost 109-110 to slightly lower-ranked Libertadores (#6, 11-20). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Panteras needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in South. Their record is 16 victories and 16 lost games. Ali has a great season in Mexico. After 31 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.2ppg (8th best) and assists with 6.9apg (2nd best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Kennedy Jones (188-G-89) of Correcaminos - 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists 5. Akeem Scott (185-G-83) of Laguneros - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 14 assists 6. Jose David Estrada (194-G-94) of Correcaminos - 27 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 7. Kareem Rodriguez (192-G/F-88) of Aaguacateros - 24 points and 6 rebounds 8. Brandon Davis (198-G/F-88) of Libertadores - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists 9. Joseph Hutchingson (196-G/F-87) of Libertadores - 23 points and 5 rebounds 10. Stedmon Lemon (198-F-92) of Panteras - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists

Soles maintains the 2nd position in their group in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Soles will need more victories to improve their 26-13 record. In the team's last game Dawson had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Soles' top player in his first season with the team. Branden Dawson averages this season 15.4ppg and 8.1rpg.
The second best player in last round's games was another Soles' star - 25-year old American Aaron Valdes (196-G-93, agency: Pro Sports). Valdes had a very good evening with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course together with Dawson he helped Soles with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Angeles (#7, 13-27) 106-68. Soles' second position in South has not changed. His team's 26-13 record is not bad at all. Valdes is well-known at Soles and together with Branden Dawson are proven team's leaders.
Third on the list of top players last round was another Soles' star - American guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (175-PG-86, agency: Pro Sports). He was another key player of Soles, helping his team with a 106-68 easy win against the lower-ranked Angeles (#7, 13-27). Soles needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in South. Their record at this point is 26 victories and 13 lost games. Mendez-Valdez has a very solid season. In 25 games in Mexico he scored 14.0ppg. He also has 4.3apg, FGP: 56.4% and 3PT: 44.4%. Orlando Mendez-Valdez has also Mexican passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

32-year old point guard Denis Clemente (183-PG-86) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Mineros and receives a Interperformances LNBP Player of the Week award for round 41. He had the game-high 29 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Mineros in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Huracanes (#7, 6-32) 89-87. Mineros maintains the 2nd position in their group in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mineros will need more victories to improve their 29-10 record. In the team's last game Clemente had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Mineros' top player in his first season with the team. Denis Clemente averages this season 12.4ppg.
Second best performed player last round was Lyonell Gaines (198-F-93, agency: Best of You Sports) of Santos. He is American forward in his first season at Santos. In the last game Gaines recorded impressive 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Santos lost that game 103-114 to slightly higher-ranked Laguneros (#4, 18-20). Santos managed to keep the same 6th spot in North. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-26 record. Gaines is a newcomer at Santos and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.6ppg (#2). He also registered 8.8 boards per game. Former Morehead State University star Gaines is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Mychal Ammons (198-F-92) of Laguneros (#4). Ammons showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, six rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Laguneros, leading his team to a 114-103 win against slightly lower-ranked Santos (#6, 13-26). The chances of Laguneros ranking at the top of North, however are very questionable as they have already lost 20 games, recording just eighteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ammons could help Laguneros to bring them higher in the standings. Ammons has a very solid season. In 39 games in Mexico he scored 15.6ppg. He also has 7.4rpg and FGP: 58.8%.
