AKEEM SCOTT

35-year old guard Akeem Scott (185-G-83) had a very impressive game in the last round for Laguneros and receives a Interperformances LNBP Player of the Week award for round 35.
He got a double-double of 20 points and 13 assists, while his team crushed Correcaminos (#5, 14-18) with 16-point margin 93-77. Laguneros maintains the 4th position in their group in Mexican LNBP. Laguneros is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 15-17 record. In the team's last game Scott had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Laguneros' top player in his first season with the team. High Point University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Scott is in league's top in assists (5th best: 6.0apg) and averages solid 57.9% FGP. Worth to mention Scott played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Mychal Ammons (198-F-92). He is American forward in his first season at Laguneros. In the last game Ammons recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds. Of course together with Scott he helped Laguneros with another comfortable win 93-77 over slightly lower-ranked Correcaminos (#5, 14-18) being unquestionably team leader. Laguneros' 4th position in North has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-17 record. Ammons is a newcomer at Laguneros and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Jarrid Famous (209-C/F-88) of Lenadores (#3). Famous scored 27 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Lenadores, leading his team to a 87-76 win against #2 ranked Mineros in a game of the week. Lenadores needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in North. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 14 lost games. Famous has a great season in Mexico. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 9.2rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-F-90) of Angeles - 18 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Gerard DeVaughn (206-F/C-88) of Libertadores - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Tony Criswell (205-PF-91) of Panteras - 29 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. David Huertas (195-G/F-87) of Fuerza Regia - 31 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Nick Harney (203-F-92) of Mineros - 25 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Bryan Davis (206-F/C-86) of Angeles - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
10. P.J. Reyes (196-G/F-88) of Laguneros - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
