There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LNBP. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Top ranked Fuerza Regia (29-9) recorded its ninth loss on the court of third ranked Lenadores on Tuesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Lenadores 104-82. They shot 61.8 percent from the field and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Lenadores shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 61.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-90) fired 20 points and 9 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. American-Puerto Rican Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St.) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. International forward Irwin Avalos (201-91, college: Dallas Baptist) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Lenadores (24-14) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Newly promoted Lenadores maintains third position having five points less than leader Capitanes. Fuerza Regia at the other side still keeps top place with nine games lost. Lenadores' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in to the arena .
Important game to mention about took place in Queretaro. Sixth ranked Libertadores (13-21) saved a 2-point victory at home edging top-ranked Capitanes (21-13) 96-94 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Capitanes. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Cezar Guerrero (185-92, college: Fresno St., agency: Best of You Sports) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Anthony Young contributed with 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Pedro Meza (186-85, agency: Pro Sports) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds for Capitanes. Libertadores maintains sixth position with 13-21 record. Capitanes at the other side still keep top place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Soles. Libertadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Capitanes will play at home against Aaguacateros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Michoacan between Aaguacateros and Soles. Third ranked Aaguacateros (20-15) got a very close home victory over their biggest opponent Soles (21-13). Aaguacateros managed to escape with a 2-point win 74-72 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Soles. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominic McGuire who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Luke Martinez responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Aaguacateros maintains third position with 20-15 record having twelve points less than leader Capitanes. Loser Soles still keep top place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Capitanes. Aaguacateros will meet league's leader Capitanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Soles will play against Angeles and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Puebla. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Abejas (17-21) to seventh ranked Angeles (13-23) 73-72 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Abejas. The winners were led by Carlos Lopez-Sosa who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. Newly promoted Angeles maintains seventh position with 13-23 record. Abejas at the other side keep the fifth place with 21 games lost. Angeles' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Soles in Mexicali and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Abejas will play at home against Panteras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Akeem Scott fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 15 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) for the winners. Laguneros' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Laguneros maintains fourth position with 18-20 record. Huracanes lost eighth consecutive game. Huracanes at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the seventh place with 32 games lost. Laguneros will face Santos (#6) in San Luis Potosi in the next round. Huracanes will play against the league's second-placed Mineros and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 40 Santos were crushed by Correcaminos in Ciudad Victoria 104-74.



Correcaminos - Santos 104-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Santos' (12-26) road loss to fifth ranked Correcaminos (17-20) 74-104 on Tuesday. Correcaminos made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. Correcaminos outrebounded Santos 50-39 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santos were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. International guard Jose-David Estrada (194-94, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 29 points and 5 rebounds. American forward BJ West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Canadian-Bosnian guard Nemanja Mitrovic (197-90, college: Portland, agency: Octagon Europe) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Correcaminos and four Santos players scored in double figures. Santos' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Correcaminos maintains fifth position with 17-20 record. Loser Santos keep the sixth place with 26 games lost. Correcaminos will face league's leader Fuerza Regia in Monterrey in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Santos will play at home against Laguneros (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game with biggest result difference took place in Torreon. Local Laguneros (18-20) outscored 7th ranked Huracanes (6-32) 113-75 on Tuesday night. Laguneros shot 61.1 percent from the field. Laguneros outrebounded Huracanes 39-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 62.1 percentage. Laguneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Huracanes' players. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 15 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) for the winners. Naturalized American swingman PJ Reyes (196-88, college: Charleston) chipped in 19 points. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Laguneros players scored in double figures. Laguneros' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Roberto Nelson (190-91, college: Oregon St., agency: Best of You Sports) produced 27 points and forward Jose Valdez (201-85) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Laguneros maintains fourth position with 18-20 record. Huracanes lost eighth consecutive game. Huracanes at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the seventh place with 32 games lost. Laguneros will face Santos (#6) in San Luis Potosi in the next round. Lenadores dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Fuerza Regia's 22. 25 personal fouls committed by Fuerza Regia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
