Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Mexico. First ranked host Capitanes (26-13) smashed 3rd ranked Aaguacateros (23-16) 92-69. They outrebounded Aaguacateros 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Capitanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Dominican guard Rigoberto Mendoza (190-92) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Machado Jonatan (200-93) chipped in 17 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitanes maintains first position with 26-13 record. Aaguacateros at the other side keep the third place with 16 games lost.
LNBP top team - Fuerza Regia (31-9) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fifth ranked Correcaminos (18-22) in Monterrey 96-78. Guard Kevin Acosta (175-91) notched 24 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and Irwin Avalos supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. Fuerza Regia maintains first position with 31-9 record. Correcaminos at the other side keep the fifth place with 22 games lost.
The game in Tampico supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Mineros (30-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Huracanes (6-33). Mineros smashed Huracanes 108-86 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Nikola Dragovic who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Mineros' coach Manuel Cintron felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Martin Samarco who recorded 29 points and 8 rebounds. Mineros have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 30-10 record behind leader Capitanes. Huracanes lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh place with 33 games lost.
The game in San Luis Potosi was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Laguneros (19-20) played at the court of 6th ranked Santos (13-27). Laguneros defeated Santos 87-71. It was a good game for Akeem Scott who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Laguneros have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Laguneros maintains fourth position with 19-20 record. Santos at the other side keep the sixth place with 27 games lost.
The game in Guanajuato supposed to be also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Panteras (17-22) played at the court of fifth ranked Abejas (18-21). Abejas smashed Panteras 112-85 on Sunday. Onzie Branch scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Abejas moved-up to fourth place. Panteras lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 22 games lost.

In the last game of round 42 Angeles were destroyed by Soles on the opponent's court 104-71.



Huracanes - Mineros 86-108

The game in Tampico supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Mineros (30-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Huracanes (6-33). Mineros smashed Huracanes 108-86 on Sunday. Mineros dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Huracanes' 32. They outrebounded Huracanes 44-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Serbian-Montenegrin forward Nikola Dragovic (206-87, college: UCLA, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Mineros' coach Manuel Cintron felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) who recorded 29 points and 8 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Jamaal Samuel (206-93, college: La-Monroe) added 25 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Mineros and four Huracanes players scored in double figures. Mineros have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 30-10 record behind leader Capitanes. Huracanes lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh place with 33 games lost.

Santos - Laguneros 71-87

The game in San Luis Potosi was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Laguneros (19-20) played at the court of 6th ranked Santos (13-27). Laguneros defeated Santos 87-71. Laguneros shot 61.3 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Santos' players. It was a good game for Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 8 assists. Naturalized American swingman PJ Reyes (196-88, college: Charleston) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Laguneros players scored in double figures. American forward BJ West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Jaron Martin (178-94, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Duran International) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Santos. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Laguneros have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Laguneros maintains fourth position with 19-20 record.
