Capitanes - Abejas 92-65

Capitanes cruised past Abejas for the second straight win. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Abejas' 30 and made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Abejas 42-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. Capitanes players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Abejas' players. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91) notched 20 points and 4 steals to lead the effort and Dominican guard Rigoberto Mendoza (190-92) supported him with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) did not help to save the game for Abejas. His fellow American import guard Michael Smith (193-95, college: Cal.Baptist) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
