GUSTAVO AYON
Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Mexicans who are currently playing abroad.

Gustavo Ayon
Gustavo Ayon
#1. This week's number one is an experienced international center Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St., currently plays in Euroleague). He led his Spanish team Real Madrid to a 3-point victory against the seventh-ranked Armani Milano (14-13) 92-89 in the Euroleague in Wednesday night's game. Ayon had a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 10 rebounds in a mere 15 minutes on the court. Real Madrid (21-6) is placed second in the Euroleague. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Ayon's fifth season with the team. This year he averages: 8.4ppg, 6.1rpg, 3.3apg, 2FGP: 70.2%(85-121) and FT: 56.1% in 23 games he played so far. Ayon is currently a member of the Mexican senior national team.

Francisco Cruz
Francisco Cruz
#2. Second place goes to an international guard Francisco Cruz (190-89, college: Wyoming, currently plays in Spain). He led Baloncesto Fuenlabrada to a surprising victory over the fifth-ranked Valencia Basket (14-9) 94-89 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Cruz was MVP of the game. He scored 21 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 8 assists. Montakit Fuenlabrada (8-15) is placed 15th in the Liga Endesa. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. Cruz has relatively good stats this season: 14.4ppg, 1.9rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 52.4%, 3FGP: 44.9% and FT: 73.3%. Ex-Fuerza Guinda Nogales player is in the roster of the Mexican senior national team.

Alexander Perez Kaufmann
Alexander Perez Kaufmann
#3. The Mexican player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Alexander Perez Kaufmann (191-93, agency: Pro Sports, currently plays in Turkey). He could not help Banvit (7-12) in their last game. Despite Perez Kaufmann's good performance Banvit lost 74-80 on the road to the second-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Perez Kaufmann also added 4 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 30 minutes. This year Perez Kaufmann has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 2.5rpg, 5.3apg, 2FGP: 54.9%, 3FGP: 31.0% and FT: 82.1% in 19 games. Ex-Soles de Mexicali player is also a member of the Mexican senior national team.

Paul Stoll
Paul Stoll
#4. Point guard Paul Stoll (180-85, currently plays in Israel) contributed to a Maccabi Ashdod's victory against the eighth-ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (9-13) 95-89 in the Israeli Winner League in Monday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and making 13 passes. Stoll also added 5 rebounds and 4 steals (made all of his six free throws). Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia (17-6) is placed first in the Winner League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Stoll's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Stoll averages: 16.7ppg, 3.5rpg, 7.2apg and 3.4spg. He is a naturalized American. Stoll is also Mexican national team player. He used to play for Algodoneros de La Comarca - Torreon in Mexican league.

One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Mexican passport:

#1. Experienced Jake Rios (188-G-86, college: Georgia Coll., currently plays in Australia) led Forestville Eagles to an easy victory against the sixth-ranked Central District Lions (1-1) crushing them 138-82 in the Australian State League (second division) last Saturday. Rios scored 17 points in a mere 17 minutes. Forestville Eagles (3-0) are placed second in Premier League. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Rios has individually a very good year with high stats.
