Capitanes - Fuerza Regia 81-66

Capitanes topped Fuerza Regia to gain 2-1 advantage in the Finals. Capitanes made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Fuerza Regia turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Fuerza Regia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Dominican guard Rigoberto Mendoza (190-92) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Capitanes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Ole Miss) who recorded 16 points and American guard Daniel Bejarano (193-91, college: Colorado St.) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

AKEEM SCOTT 35-year old shooting guard Akeem Scott (185-SG-83) had a very impressive game in the last round for Venados and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 5. He had the game-high 35 points adding five rebounds and five assists for Venados in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Tijuana (#1, 8-4) 93-90.
