It should come as no surprise that one of the most popular sports in the world is basketball. Having the most watched cups in history, basketball is a hot topic in most countries and a rising sport in other countries where it still grows and thrives on attention. Being such a strong market sports game one would think it cannot be shaken or impacted where in fact, it absolutely can.
Losing fans affects marketers, teams, coaches, the audience and even sports books. In order to bring in the cash, the NBA needs to keep its star players on top form. Where the NBA is concerned, there is a new market affecting the games and it's a positive effect. The Latin market currently boasts the largest percentage of the fan base, reaching up to 16% of viewers for the NBA and 13% for the NFL. Sportsbooks are also reaching new heights which has attracted an elite fan base of Latin bettors and brings in some profits, albeit not as much as tickets sold for the bleachers. However, sites such as NoviBet basketball are to attract a massive database of online users within the region in the near future.
In fact, there are a number of Latin basketball players who have a massive following and have personally impacted basketball.

Hispanic NBA Players

You would be surprised to learn there are currently 10 famous NBA stars from Latin/American decent, once again proving the Latin market is growing in their fandom. Each of these players attracts market of Latinos and proudly so. With these players making a notorious name for themselves we see a positive future for the NBA in terms of attracting an even bigger Latin fan base. Here are the current stars changing and revolutionizing basketball today.

Angel Delgado-Los Angeles Clippers
Al Horford-Boston Celtics
Trevor Ariza - Plays for the Washington Wizards
Jose Juan Barea-Plays for the Dallas Mavericks
J. Calderon-Detroit Pistons
J. Hernangomez - Denver Nuggets
Marc Gasol-Plays for the Toronto Raptors
Ricky Rubio-Utah Jazz
Pau Gasol-Milwaukee Bucks
W. Hernangom. - Charlotte Hornets

As you can see, amongst just these players and their famed team names, you can imagine the growing fan base and how many more fans basketball is bringing in just with these famous names.

The NBA and the Mexican Market

According to news sources, the NBA is looking into cracking the Mexican market and it would be a great place to start, although many would agree the market has already been tapped into thanks to top players such as the above mentioned.
This is accomplished by hosting games in the city and bringing in more home based fans. The NBA has already hosted games at the Ciudad de Mexico in 2018. The games, as usual, were a success and once again the NBA was in the spotlight grabbing the audiences' attention and inadvertently becoming impacted by the Latin market. It would appear that both the NBA and Latin players and fans can benefit from one another.

CIBACOPA Round 6: Halcones de Ciudad Obregon beats Venados by two after a very close game - 1 day ago
Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game of round 6 in the CIBACOPA took place in Ciudad Obregon. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Venados (5-7) to first ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (7-4) 85-83 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It was a good game for American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 6 assists.
