SAMMY YEAGER

American Forward Sammy Yeager (193-F-89) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Culiacan, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, nine rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Hermosillo (11-7) 87-80. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Culiacan is placed at 2nd position in Mexican CIBACOPA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Culiacan will need more victories to improve their 11-7 record. In the team's last game Yeager had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Culiacan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Sammy Yeager averages this season 24.7ppg and 6.5rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 35-year old Jamaican Akeem Scott (185-SG-83) of Venados. Scott had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 12 assists. Of course he led Venados to another comfortable win 89-72 over the higher-ranked Culiacan (#2, 11-7) being unquestionably team leader. Venados' 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Scott is one of the most experienced players at Venados and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Former High Point University star Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Anthony Glover Jr. (185-G-96) of Los Mochis (#9). Glover Jr. got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and five assists. Despite Glover Jr.'s great performance Los Mochis lost 93-97 to the higher-ranked Obregon (#5, 10-8). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Los Mochis can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 4-12 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Glover Jr. he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Glover Jr. has a very solid season. In 15 games in Mexico he scored 22.1ppg. He also has 4.4rpg, 3.4apg, FGP: 56.4% and 3PT: 40.2%. Glover Jr. attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
