HAMEED ALI

25-year old guard Hameed Ali (188-G-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for Guaymas and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 11.
He got a double-double of 32 points and 10 assists, while his team outclassed Los Mochis (#8, 8-13) with 31-point margin 120-89. Guaymas maintains the 9th position in Mexican league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 17 games and recorded just seven victories. In the team's last game Ali had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He just recently signed at Guaymas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Texas A&M - Corpus Christi graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ali is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.5apg) and averages solid 2.1spg.

Second best performed player last round was Sammy Yeager (193-F-89) of Culiacan. He is American forward in his first season at Culiacan. In the last game Yeager recorded impressive 36 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Culiacan cruised to a 102-95 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Obregon (#2, 14-10). Despite this victory Culiacan slide down in the standings to 5th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 12-10 record is not bad and everything may still change. Yeager is one of the most experienced players at Culiacan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.8ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.8rpg and 3.9apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Guaymas' star - swingman Brent Jackson (193-G/F-94). Jackson got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was another key player of Guaymas, helping his team with a 120-89 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Los Mochis (#8, 8-13). Guaymas can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 7-17 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Jackson he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Jackson has a very solid season. In 5 games in Mexico he scored 23.2ppg. Jackson attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Isaiah Wilkerson (191-G-90) of Obregon - 28 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Glen Rice Jr. (198-G/F-91) of Obregon - 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Akeem Scott (185-SG-83) of Venados - 29 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Brandon Swannegan (206-F-93) of Jalisco - 21 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Joel James (208-F-94) of Hermosillo - 16 points and 14 rebounds
9. Dane Johnson (208-C-86) of Culiacan - 23 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Jesus Gonzalez (195-F-86) of La Paz - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
