Filiberto Rivera (ex Aguada) is a newcomer at Plateados- August 21, 2019
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Rivera was voted Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN Honorable Mention back in 2010 and 2016. He was also a member of Puerto Rican international program for some years. Rivera played for Puerto Rican Senior National Team between 2004 and 2014 and previously for U21 National Team between 2000 and 2001. He also represented Puerto Rico at the Centrobasket in Nayarit (Mexico) five years ago. Rivera's team won Silver and his stats at that event were 6 games: 8.2ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.5apg, FGP: 52.9%, 3PT: 46.7%, FT: 71.4%. Rivera is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America) in eight different countries. Rivera has played previously professionally in Dominican Rep., Germany (Science City Jena), Greece, Israel, Italy, Venezuela (Marinos and Llaneros), Puerto Rico (Vaqueros, Gallitos, Leones, Cariduros and Indios) and Mexico (Aguascalientes, Halcones Rojos, Fuerza Regia and Panteras). It's very possible he may end his playing career at Plateados. Rivera attended Univ.of Texas at El Paso until 2005 and it will be his 15th (!!!) season as a professional player. The scouts decsribe him following way: Has a great court vision and a first-pass-then-shoot mentality that make him an ideal point guard; knows how to score, however, and can hit a 3 pointer if left open; can become a star player even at NBA level. He is also a fantastic 1-on-1 defender, with great lateral quickness. By Eurobasket Data Center
