Abejas tab Carlos Lopez-Sosa, ex Arecibo

Abejas de Leon (LNBP) inked 29-year old Puerto Rican international forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-104kg-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports). He played in the summer at Capitanes de Arecibo in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 33 games he averaged 7.4ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.4apg and 1.2bpg. The last season Lopez-Sosa played at Angeles where in 36 LNBP games he had very impressive stats: 16.5ppg, 8.3rpg and 2.6apg. A very good season in his career as he was selected to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP Honorable Mention and to the All-Star Game.
Among other achievements his team made it to the MWC Tournament Semifinals in 2011, 2012 and 2014. Lopez-Sosa received also Latinbasket.com Puerto Rican BSN All-Newcomers Team award back in 2014 at his college time.
Lopez-Sosa has been also a member of Puerto Rican international program for some years. He has regularly played for Puerto Rican senior team since 2013 and previously for U21 National Team in 2006.
Lopez-Sosa also represented Puerto Rico at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla (Colombia) last year. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 4 games: 4.3ppg, 2.0rpg.
Lopez-Sosa has played also professionally in Mexico (Panteras) and NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats).
He attended University of Nevada - Las Vegas until 2014 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.
Lopez-Sosa's game is described as: Tremendous upside; has the ability to stretch the defense by evidence of his 41% 3 point shooting percentage. Per minutes played led P.R. in rebounding not only in the league but also in the centrobasket tourney. Good post defender, has a good feel for the game.
