The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The biggest surprise of round 1 in LNBP took place in where host Astros (1-0) beat Michoacan (0-1) 77-73 on Thursday evening. Astros looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Puerto Rican swingman Angel-Daniel Vassallo (198-86, college: Virginia Tech) fired 28 points for the winners. American power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) chipped in 22 points. American guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St., agency: Pensack Sports) produced 19 points and 4 assists for lost side. Michoacan will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Astros will try to continue on its current victory against Michoacan at home.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Dorados (0-1) in Chihuahua. Hosts were edged by Huracanes (1-0) 93-90. Huracanes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dorados will play again at home against Huracanes (#2) to get more than just one victory in their record.
An interesting game where Lenadores (1-0) edged by two points Mineros (0-1) 95-93 on Thursday night. Mineros were very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Javier Mojica stepped up and scored 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. At the losing side Gilberto Clavell responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Lenadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mineros will play again against Lenadores (#3) and hope to win that game.
We should not miss the game which took place in Torreon where Fuerza Regia (1-0) edged by three points Laguneros (0-1) 76-73. Laguneros were very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Jordan Glynn nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Laguneros' coach Andres Contreras rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fuerza Regia will have a break next round. Laguneros will play again at home against Fuerza Regia (#1) and hope to win that game.
Very important is a road loss of Correcaminos (0-1) against Panteras (1-0) on Thursday night. Visiting Correcaminos were defeated by Panteras in Aguascalientes 93-83. Gary Ricks fired 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Panteras' coach Manuel Cintron used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panteras will face again Correcaminos (#6) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.

In the last two games of round 1 winless Abejas lost to undefeated Libertadores in Queretaro 80-89. Winless Angeles lost to undefeated Soles at home 76-118.
The best stats of 1st round was 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Jonathan Rodriguez of Libertadores.
