Oglivie number one in Mexican LNBP for round 14 (by Interperformances)- October 27, 2019
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (20 points, nine rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Abejas (#5, 7-7) with 17-point margin 101-84. Capitanes was forced-out from the top positions in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Capitanes will need more victories to improve their 9-4 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Oglivie as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Ernesto Oglivie averages this season 11.4ppg. The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old American Michael Smith (193-G-95) of Abejas. Smith had a very good evening with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Abejas lost that game 84-101 to slightly higher-ranked Capitanes (#3, 9-4). Abejas managed to keep the same 5th spot in West. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Smith is well-known at Abejas and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Rodney Green (196-G/F-88) of league's second-best Aaguacateros. Green showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, six rebounds and seven assists in the last round. He was a key player of Aaguacateros, leading his team to a 93-90 win against #4 ranked Panteras in a game of the week. Aaguacateros needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in West. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 4 lost games. Green has a very solid season. In 9 games in Mexico he scored 16.4ppg. He also has 4.3rpg, FGP: 53.9% and 3PT: 62.5%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Guillermo Diaz (188-G-85) of Plateados - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists 5. Travis Elliott (203-C-91) of Angeles - 14 points and 14 rebounds 6. Rigoberto Mendoza (190-G-92) of Capitanes - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists 7. Gary Ricks (185-G-91) of Panteras - 28 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists 8. Adrian Uter (201-F/C-84) of Plateados - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
