Best players of Mexican LNBP round 21 (by Interperformances)- November 14, 2019
The 27-year old guard had the game-high 23 points adding four rebounds and four assists for Capitanes in his team's victory, helping them to beat Astros (#6, 10-11) 93-78. Capitanes maintains the 2nd position in their group in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Capitanes will need more victories to improve their 14-4 record. In the team's last game Mendoza had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Capitanes' top player in his first season with the team. Rigoberto Mendoza averages this season 15.7ppg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old American forward Aaron Perez (196-F-86) of Huracanes. Perez impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Huracanes lost that game 91-110 to the higher-ranked Soles (#1, 17-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in East. Huracanes still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 13-8 record is not bad at all. Perez is a newcomer at Huracanes and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often. The third best performed player last round was American Devon Collier (203-PF-91) of Astros (#6). Collier scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. Despite Collier's great performance Astros lost 78-93 to the higher-ranked Capitanes (#2, 14-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Astros ranking at the top of West, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Collier could help Astros to bring them higher in the standings. Collier has a great season in Mexico. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.0rpg (6th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. B.J. West (211-C-89) of Santos - 20 points and 12 rebounds 5. Donald Sims (185-G-87) of Aaguacateros - 18 points and 6 assists 6. David Laury (206-F/C-90) of Soles - 12 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists 7. Jose Rodriguez (201-F-92) of Panteras - 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists 8. Orlando Mendez-Valdez (175-PG-86) of Capitanes - 11 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists 9. Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-F-94) of Lenadores - 7 points and 15 rebounds 10. Gerardo Chavez (206-C-96) of Angeles - 15 points and 4 rebounds The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
