Best players of Mexican LNBP round 24 (by Interperformances)- November 25, 2019
The 33-year old playmaker had a double-double of 30 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team beat Angeles (#9, 1-23) 86-73. Capitanes maintains the 2nd position in their group in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Capitanes will need more victories to improve their 17-5 record. In the team's last game Mendez-Valdez had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Capitanes' top player in his first season with the team. Western Kentucky University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mendez-Valdez is in league's top in assists (7th best: 4.6apg) and averages solid 60.0% FGP and 48.7% from behind 3-point line. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 29-year old Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-G-90) of Lenadores. Garcia impressed basketball fans with 29 points, 2 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course Lenadores cruised to a 102-94 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Plateados (#6, 7-17). Lenadores' 5th position in East has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-10 record is not bad and everything may still change. Garcia is a newcomer at Lenadores and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was American Trent Steen (203-F, agency: One Motive Sports) of Laguneros (#8). Steen got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds . Despite Steen's great performance Laguneros lost 97-117 to slightly higher-ranked Correcaminos (#7, 7-20). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Laguneros can only dream about fighting for top spots in East. They have rather bad season and 1-23 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Steen has individually a great season in Mexico. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.4rpg (4th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Nehemias Morillo (196-G-92) of Correcaminos - 32 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists 5. Mamadou Ndiaye (229-C-93) of Correcaminos - 21 points and 11 rebounds 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
