Capitanes - Soles 90-110 An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mexico. First ranked Soles faced second-best Capitanes. Guests from Mexicali (20-6) smashed host Capitanes (18-6) 110-90. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Capitanes. Soles made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Capitanes turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for international guard Luke Martinez (193-90, college: Wyoming, agency: Pro Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Smith (193-95, college: CBU) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import swingman Mario Kegler (201-97, college: Baylor) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Puerto Rican Jeff Burgos who recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and American guard G'mitri Rice (191-92) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: UNC) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Mineros players scored in double figures. They outrebounded Libertadores 50-35 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Barry Chinedu (193-94) who saved his team from a defeat with 20 points and 9 rebounds. American center BJ West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) contributed with 8 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Santos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American-Dominican forward Justin Satchell (203, college: St.Leo) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Irwin Avalos (201-91, college: DBU) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Libertadores. The best player for the winners was American guard Isaiah Wilkerson (191-90, college: NJIT) who scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Dominican point guard Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. Dorados' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-90) who recorded 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Decensae Wite added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively.
