Mazatlan adds Horton to their roster, ex Sol de America- March 8, 2020
POSTED BY: Dimitri Chelidze
Most of last season Horton spent at Universidad de Concepcion (Liga Nacional) in Chilean league where in 17 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.9ppg, 6.2rpg, and 1.8apg. He also played for Hebraica (LUB) in the Uruguayan league. In 14 games he averaged remarkable 15.7ppg, 5.2rpg, and 1.6apg. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Horton was voted Eurobasket.com All-Swedish Basketligan 2nd Team back in 2014. He is a quite experienced player. Horton's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in ten different countries. Horton tasted life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Finland (KTP Basket and Kauhajoki), France (ADA Blois and Charleville Mezieres), Germany (Mitteldeutscher BC), Kosovo, Kuwait, Luxembourg (Sparta and Basket Esch), Romania (Craiova), Slovakia (Inter Bratislava), Turkey (Baskent) and Sweden (Norrkoping Dolphins). Horton is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Mazatlan. Horton attended the State University of N.Jersey Rutgers-Newark until 2007 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player. On Horton: At 6-foot-6, Jermont is quick and versatile. He is a consistent 3-point threat and possesses the ability to run the point, play the 2, or fill in at the 3 position when needed. Jermont possesses an outstanding perimeter game which includes a perfect jump shot and the ability to dribble as well as most point guards. This comes from the fact that when he entered college he was 6'1 and when he graduated he was 6'6. An extremely talented basketball player. By Eurobasket Data Center |
