Lamonte number one in Mexico for round 1- March 18, 2020
The 35-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, seven rebounds and six assists) to as his team La Paz moved-up to the 7th position in Mexican CIBACOPA. La Paz is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 2nd lost game this season out of 3 games. In the team's last game Lamonte had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at La Paz, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former William Carey University star has very solid stats this year. Lamonte is in league's top in assists (4th best: 8.7apg) and averages impressive 2.7spg and 57.1% FGP. Worth to mention Lamonte played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Winston Shepard (203-PF-93, agency: Slash Sports) of league's leader Hermosillo. Shepard had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Hermosillo cruised to a 95-88 relatively comfortable win over Guaymas (1-1). His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Shepard is one of the most experienced players at Hermosillo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.5ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 15.0rpg and 4.5apg. Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Jordan Adams (196-G-94) of Mazatlan (#6). Adams got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . He was a key player of Mazatlan, leading his team to a 89-82 win against Jalisco (1-1). Mazatlan needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Adams has a great season in Mexico. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.5ppg (3rd best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Alex Hicks (203-F/C-96) of Mazatlan - 22 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists 5. Mychal Ammons (198-PF-92) of Tijuana - 18 points and 11 rebounds 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
