He also represented Mexico at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla (Colombia) two years ago. Mendez-Valdez has played previously professionally also in Israel (Maccabi Haifa) and Mexico (Halcones UV Xalapa, Soles, Pioneros, and Caballeros de Culiacan). The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won the Mexican LNBP championship title in 2010, 2016, and 2018. Mendez-Valdez was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP All-Domestic Players Team in 2018. He attended Western Kentucky University until 2009 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
