Abejas de Leon (LNBP) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old American (has also Dominican passport) forward Angel Nunez (203-92kg-91, college: S.Florida). He played in the summer at CDP Domingo Paulino Santiago in Santiago League in the Dominican Republic. In 15 games he recorded very impressive stats: 19.2ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.5apg, 1.5spg, and 1.9bpg. Good season as he was selected League Player of the Week. The last season Nunez played at Nets in the NBA-G-League.

Nunez represented the Dominican Republic at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla (Colombia) two years ago. His team got to the Semifinals.

Nunez is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and of course North America) in five different countries. Nunez has played previously professionally also in Argentina (Estudiantes Concordia), France (Cholet Basket and ALM Evreux), Romania (CSU Ploiesti), and Taiwan (Bank of Taiwan and Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor).

He attended the University of South Florida until 2016 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
