Adams' double-double lands him LNBP Interperformances Player of the Week award- October 25, 2020
He had a double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Panteras (#6, 5-13) 126-122. Libertadores maintains the 3rd position in their group in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Libertadores will need more victories to improve their 10-8 record. In the team's last game Adams had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Libertadores' top player in his first season with the team. University of California at Los Angeles graduate has very impressive stats this year. Adams is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.4ppg) and averages solid 2.2spg,62.1% FGP and 41.0% from behind 3-point line. Second best performed player last round was Angel Nunez (203-F-91) of Abejas. He is American-Dominican Rep. forward in his first season at Abejas. In the last game Nunez recorded impressive double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Abejas lost that game 91-96 to the higher-ranked Aaguacateros (#1, 13-5). Despite lost game Abejas moved up to 5th position in West. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Abejas managed to get this year. Nunez is a newcomer at Abejas and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to forward Josimar Ayarza (205-F-87) of Correcaminos (#6). Ayarza scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Ayarza's great performance Correcaminos lost 82-113 to the higher-ranked Dorados (#2, 12-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Correcaminos can only dream about fighting for top spots in East. They have awful season losing so far all 16 games. Too bad for Ayarza he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Ayarza has a very solid season. In 8 games in Mexico he scored 17.3ppg. Other top performing players last week: 4. Gerard DeVaughn (206-F/C-88) of Libertadores - 25 points and 5 rebounds 5. J.R.
