Abejas topped Libertadores to take 3-2 lead. Abejas outrebounded Libertadores 39-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Michael Smith (193-1995, college: CBU) stepped up and scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and forward Tre McLean (197-1993, college: Chattanooga) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Five Abejas players scored in double figures. Abejas' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Vander Blue (196-1992, college: Marquette) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and guard Spencer Williams (188-1995, college: Wooster) scored 23 points.

Mineros topped Fuerza Regia to open 3-2 lead. Mineros made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Mineros outrebounded Fuerza Regia 43-26 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized American Durrell Summers (196-1989, college: Michigan St.) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. American swingman Jordan Williams (198-1992, college: N.Texas) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. American Dominique Johnson (192-1987, college: Azusa Pacific) produced 25 points and the other American import power forward Devon Scott (206-1994, college: Dayton) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
