LNBPF 2023 - Abejas tab Waleska Perez in Mexico

Abejas de Leon (LNBPF) inked 29-year old Venezuelan international 180cm guard Waleska Perez (college: Weatherford JC) for upcoming season. Perez played recently at FSV Rijeka in Croatian Premijer Liga. In four games she averaged impressive 23.8ppg, 6.0rpg, 6.0apg and 3.5spg last season.
She has been also a member of Venezuelan international program for some years. Perez has regularly played for Venezuelan senior team since 2010 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2009.
She represented Venezuela at the FIBA South American Women's Championship in San Luis (Argentina) last year. Her team got to the Semifinals and her stats at that event were 5 games: 6.8ppg, 5.8rpg, 3.0apg, 1.4spg, FGP: 28.1%, 3PT: 17.4%, FT: 40.0%.
Perez is a very experienced player. She has quite traveled the world as her pro career brought her to five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). Perez has played previously professionally in Brazil (Blumenau), Colombia (Motilonas), Spain (Arxil), Venezuela (Anzoategui, Guaras, Cangrejas, Pastoras and Caribenas) and Argentina (Obras). She won Venezuelan LINABAFE championship title in 2014, 2017 and 2021.
Among many awards she was voted Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan Superliga Guard of the Year in 2022.
Perez attended Weatherford College until 2014 and it is her ninth season in pro basketball.
