There were just 6 rounds played in Regular Season of CIBACOPA and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An interesting game for Rayos de Hermosillo (7-1) which hosted in Hermosillo one of their biggest challengers Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (5-5). Third ranked Rayos de Hermosillo had an easy win 90-67. Hermosillo outrebounded Obregon 44-31 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hermosillo looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Sterling Manley (213-1998, college: UNC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Venezuelan center Windi Graterol (204-1986, agency: Pro Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for Obregon. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hermosillo maintains third position with 7-1 record behind leader Astros. Obregon at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Hermosillo are looking forward to face Culiacan (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Obregon will have a break next round.
CIBACOPA top team - Astros (8-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (2-6) in Guadalajara 114-87. British center Kavell Bigby-Williams (211-1995, college: LSU) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Mikh McKinney chipped in 15 points and 8 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Tra-Deon Hollins (188-1995, college: Omaha) with 18 points and 8 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Astros maintains first position with 8-2 record, which they share with Tijuana. Guaymas at the other side dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. Astros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Guaymas will play at home against Frayles (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Mazatlan was also quite interesting. Second ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (8-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Venados (4-4). Tijuana Zonkeys did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 87-70 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Venados. Arinze Chidom notched 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach Enrique Zuniga used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by Decensae White did not help to save the game for Mazatlan. Tijuana keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Astros. Loser Venados keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Angeles. Tijuana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mazatlan will play against Angeles (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 6: Angeles beat Culiacan on the road 77-69. Frayles lost to Los Mochis on its own court 82-99. Frayles unfortunately lost to Los Mochis in a road game 83-92.
