SPB 2024 - Dion Wright (ex Mineros) agreed terms with Llaneros

Dion Wright

Llaneros de Guarico (SPB) inked 31-year old American 201cm forward Dion Wright (college: St.Bonaventure) for the upcoming SPB 2024 season. Wright played last summer at Mineros in Mexican LNBP. He managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 19 LNBP games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.2ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.8apg. Great season indeed as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP Honorable Mention. Wright also played for Sky Kings in U.S. semi-pro league TBL where in 8 games he averaged 11.1ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.1apg.
He is a very experienced player. Wright has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Cyprus (Payabl EKA AEL Limassol and Etha), Iran (Chemidor), Israel (Hapoel Migdal Haemek), Japan (89ers), Ukraine (Cherkasy), Uruguay (Defensor), Libya (Al Ittihad Tri) and The Basketball Tournament (Sideline Cancer and Brown & White).
Among many awards his college team made it to the Ukrainian Cup final in 2021. Wright was selected to Eurobasket.com Ukrainian Superleague All-Imports Team back in 2020.
He graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 2016 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
