Halcones sign Ilze Jakobsone

Ilze Jakobsone

Halcones de Xalapa (LNBPF) signed 30-year old Latvian international guard Ilze Jakobsone (168cm-77kg-1994). She moved there from Emlak in Turkish KBSL. In 24 games she had 5.8ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.9apg last season. She also played 6 games in Eurocup where she recorded 9.0ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.5apg and 1.0spg. Last summer she played at Felix Perez in Paraguayan league.
Jakobsone has been a member of the Latvian international program for some years. She has regularly played for the Latvian senior team since 2016 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2014.
Jakobsone also represented Latvia at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) in Serbia and Latvia five years ago. During this event she scored an average of 4.7 ppg and had 2.7 rpg.
She is quite an experienced player. Jakobsone has played professionally in Germany (Freiburg and Keltern), Israel (Maccabi Bnot Ashdod), Paraguay, Latvia (TTT Riga, SBK Liepaja/LSSS, and Cesis), Portugal (BAC Cabana Beach Bar), and Mexico (Panteras).
She won the Paraguayan Metropolitan League championship title in 2023. She was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-EWBL Honorable Mention in 2021.
