The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Adelitas (7-1) in Irapuato on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Freseras (5-5) 73-69. Freseras had a 39-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Sierra Moore (180-1994, college: Penn State) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Haitian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-1993, college: Albany) contributed with 8 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Azerbaijani forward Brianna Fraser (190-1997, college: Maryland) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for Adelitas. Adelitas' coach Maikel Lopez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Freseras maintains fourth place with 5-5 record. Defending champion Adelitas keep the second position with one game lost. Freseras are looking forward to face Correcaminos (#7) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round. Adelitas will play at home against the league's leader Fuerza Regia (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Veracruz. Sixth ranked Rojas (4-4) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Panteras (4-6) 57-55 in the game for the fifth place. American players dominated the game. Forward Stasha Carey (188-1995, college: Rutgers) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Naomi Davenport chipped in 13 points. Forward Tinara Moore (189-1996, college: CMU) responded with 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rojas moved-up to fifth place. Panteras at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Rojas will play against Abejas (#8) in Leon in the next round. Panteras will have a break next round.

Brianna Fraser nailed 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Jessica Fequiere came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds for Freseras in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains second place with 7-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Fuerza Regia. Loser Freseras keep the fourth position with five games lost. Adelitas will meet at home league's leader Fuerza Regia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Freseras will play against Correcaminos in Ciudad Victoria and hope to secure a win.
There were no big surprises in other games of round 5: Abejas were beaten by Halcones on the road 93-80. Halcones won against Abejas on its own court 87-73. Panteras unfortunately lost to Rojas in Veracruz 57-64. Fuerza Regia managed to beat Santas at home 87-78. Bottom-ranked Santas were crushed by Fuerza Regia on the opponent's court 85-65.
The most impressive performance of 5th round was 11 points and 7 rebounds by Khaalia Hillsman of Fuerza Regia.
