Carey number one in Mexican LNBPF for round 6

American Forward Stasha Carey (188-F-1995) had an amazing evening in the last round for Rojas de Veracruz, receiving a Hoops Agents LNBPF Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, eight rebounds) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out Abejas (#9, 2-10) 75-72. Rojas maintains the 4th position in Mexican LNBPF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Rojas will need more victories to improve their 6-4 record. In the team's last game Carey had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Rojas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Rutgers University star has very solid stats this year. Carey is in league's top in points (7th best: 15.2ppg), rebounds (6th best: 8.0rpg) and averages impressive 63.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Sara Dickey (177-G/F-1995) of Abejas de Leon. Dickey had a very good evening with 31 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Abejas was edged by the higher-ranked Rojas (#4, 6-4) 75-72. This loss caused Abejas to slide to the very bottom (9) position in the standings. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Abejas managed to get this year. Dickey is one of the most experienced players at Abejas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Shaylee Gonzales (178-G-2000) of Correcaminos (#7). Gonzales scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She was a key player of Correcaminos, leading her team to a 85-79 win against slightly higher-ranked Freseras (#5, 5-7). The chances of Correcaminos ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Gonzales could help Correcaminos to bring them higher in the standings. Gonzales has a great season in Mexico. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.2ppg (8th best).
