The most important game in the last round took place in Guadalajara between second ranked Astros (10-3) and ninth ranked Plateros (7-7) on Saturday night. Astros were defeated by Plateros in a tough game at home 80-88. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Astros. Plateros made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican forward Angel Matias (194-1992, college: Georgia South) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Tyrone White (201-1990, college: CSUB) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Ruan Masques who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds. Astros' coach Leandro Garcia rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Plateros maintains ninth position with 7-7 record. Astros at the other side keep the second place with three games lost. Plateros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Astros will play on the road against Panteras in Aguascalientes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Leader Fuerza Regia delivered the twelfth victory. This time they crushed 12th ranked Lobos BUAP (5-9) 90-67 in Monterrey. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for point guard Micah Speight (178-1998, college: S.Nazarene) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 5 assists. Kendrick Ray contributed with 10 points and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Jordan Goldwire (188-1999, college: Oklahoma, agency: BMS Sport Agency) replied with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Lobos BUAP. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-2 record. Lobos BUAP at the other side keeps the twelfth place with nine games lost. Fuerza Regia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lobos BUAP will play at home against Halc.Rojos (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Jimond Ivey scored 21 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Andre Spight with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Mineros' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Freseras maintains thirteenth position with 4-8 record. Mineros lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 18 El Calor was defeated by Diablos in a road game 111-103. Diablos beat El Calor at home 94-87.

Diablos - El Calor 111-103

There was no surprise when 11th ranked El Calor (5-8) was defeated on the road by third ranked Diablos (10-4) 111-103 on Saturday. Diablos made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American guard Avry Holmes (185-1994, college: Clemson) scored 24 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Joshua Ibarra (211-1995, college: HCU) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Archie Goodwin (196-1994, college: Kentucky) with 27 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Arinze Chidom (206-1997, college: UC Riverside) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Diablos and four El Calor players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diablos maintains third position with 10-4 record having just two points less than leader Fuerza Regia. El Calor lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with eight games lost. Diablos will meet Dorados (#6) in the next round. El Calor will play against Halc.Xalapa (#8) and hope to secure a win.
