Washington number one in Mexican LNBP for round 20

American Guard Deshawndre Washington (201-G) had a very impressive game in the last round for Halcones Rojos de Veracruz, receiving a Hoops Agents LNBP Player of the Week award for round 20.
The player was the main contributor (39 points, five rebounds and eight assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Lobos BUAP (#14, 5-11) 96-89. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Halcones Rojos is placed at 13th position in Mexican LNBP. Halc.Rojos is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-9 record. In the team's last game Washington had a remarkable 63.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Halcones Rojos' top player in his first season with the team. Deshawndre Washington averages this season 29.3ppg, 6.0rpg and 5.0apg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Lithuanian Egidijus Mockevicius (208-C-1992) of El Calor de Cancun. Mockevicius had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as El Calor lost that game 82-90 to the higher-ranked Halc.Xalapa (#8, 8-4). El Calor managed to keep the same 11th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-9 record. Mockevicius is a newcomer at El Calor, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Corey Sanders (188-F-1997) of league's second-best Astros de Jalisco. Sanders showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. Despite Sanders' great performance the Astros lost 81-86 to #4 ranked Panteras. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Astros needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 10 victories and 5 lost games. Sanders has a great season in Mexico. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.3apg (best passer).
