Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Sixteenth-ranked Abejas (2-16) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Panteras (13-6) in Aguascalientes on Thursday. Panteras managed to secure only two-point victory 95-93. However their fans expected much easier game. Panteras looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Brazilian Wesley Ferreira (201-1995) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. American swingman Stedmon Lemon (198-1992, college: JCSU) chipped in 22 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian-American point guard Nikolas Tomsick (183-1991, college: Fort Lewis) who recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Panteras have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Abejas lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Panteras are again looking forward to face bottom-ranked Abejas (#16) in Guanajuato in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Abejas will have a break next round.

It was a good game for Serbian power forward Nikola Jovanovic (211-1994, college: USC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Thad McFadden contributed with 20 points for the winners. American forward Lydell Elmore (206-1998, college: Camp-Harrodsburg) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for Correcaminos. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Halcones UV Xalapa have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Halc.Xalapa maintains second position with 14-4 record behind leader Fuerza Regia. Correcaminos at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Lobos BUAP. Halc.Xalapa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Correcaminos will play at home against the league's second-placed Halc.Xalapa (#2) and hope to get back on the winning track.

In the last two games of round 24 Soles were defeated by Dorados in Chihuahua 90-81. Lobos BUAP was beaten by Santos at home 78-83.




Correcaminos - Halc.Xalapa 69-89

Dorados - Soles 90-81

There was no surprise in Chihuahua where 9th ranked Soles (9-10) were defeated by seventh ranked Dorados (11-8) 90-81. It was a good game for American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-1993, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-1992) contributed with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American-Argentinian Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Kenneth Faried (203-1989, college: Morehead St.) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Soles. Five Dorados and four Soles players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Dorados maintains seventh position with 11-8 record. Soles at the other side keep the ninth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Santos. Dorados will again play against Soles (#10) in Mexicali in the next round. Soles will have a break next round.

Lobos BUAP - Santos 78-83

No shocking result in a game in Puebla where tenth ranked Santos (9-10) defeated 14th ranked Lobos BUAP (5-14) 83-78. It was a good game for American-Puerto Rican point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 assists. American forward Johnny Hughes III (201-1997, college: UIW) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Desi Washington (188-1992, college: St.Peter's) replied with 16 points and 4 assists and DR Congolese Christian Eyenga (198-1989) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks in the effort for Lobos BUAP. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lobos BUAP's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Santos moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Soles. Lobos BUAP lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Correcaminos. Santos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lobos BUAP will play again at home against Santos (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
