LNBP Round 37 of Regular Season

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LNBP. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Round 37 most important game was a victory of Panteras over 7th ranked Dorados 81-76 on Friday night. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jaron Martin (178-1995, college: UC Irvine) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds. Puerto Rican David Huertas (196-1987, college: Ole Miss) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Panteras' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-1993, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for Dorados. Panteras (18-12) moved-up to fifth place. Dorados at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Soles and Plateros. Panteras are looking forward to face Correcaminos (#14) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dorados will play at home against Lobos BUAP (#16) and are hoping to win this game.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Diablos (20-10) against tenth ranked Halcones Rojos (15-15) on Saturday night. Host Diablos were defeated by Halcones Rojos in a tough game at home 95-100. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Diablos. American players dominated the game. Guard Deshawndre Washington (201, college: NM State) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Davon Jefferson chipped in 18 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side J.J. Avila (203-1991, college: Colorado St.) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Diablos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Halc.Rojos moved-up to ninth place, which they share with El Calor. Diablos at the other side keep the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Halc.Xalapa. Halc.Rojos will play against higher ranked Halc.Xalapa (#4) in Xalapa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Diablos will play at home against the league's second-placed Astros having rather not much hope for a victory.
An interesting game for Fuerza Regia (23-7) which played road game in Xalapa against 3rd placed Halcones UV Xalapa (20-10). First ranked Fuerza Regia managed to get a 5-point victory 81-76. Jalen Adaway nailed 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Fuerza Regia's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Thad McFadden came up with 27 points and 5 assists for Halc.Xalapa in the defeat. Defending champion maintains first place with 23-7 record. Loser Halcones UV Xalapa keeps the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Diablos. Fuerza Regia will meet Soles (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Halc.Xalapa will play against Halc.Rojos (#10) and hope to secure a win.

Other games in round 37 were not that significant. Plateros were beaten by Correcaminos on the road 87-82. El Calor won against Lobos BUAP on its own court 90-76. Freseras unfortunately lost to Santos in San Luis Potosi 83-84. Soles rolled over Mineros at home 96-55. Halc.Rojos were crushed by Diablos on the opponent's court 102-80.



Correcaminos - Plateros 87-82

There was a surprise result when eighteenth ranked Correcaminos (7-22) beat higher ranked Plateros (17-13) in Ciudad Victoria 87-82 on Friday. American forward Lydell Elmore (206-1998, college: Camp-Harrodsburg) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Navar Elmore (206, college: Livingstone, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 15 points and 13 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican forward Angel Matias (194-1992, college: Georgia South) came up with 18 points and 9 rebounds and American center Deion McClenton (208, college: Keiser) added 12 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Plateros in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Plateros' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Correcaminos moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Plateros keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Soles and Dorados. Correcaminos will meet at home higher ranked Panteras (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Plateros will play against Freseras in Irapuato and hope to secure a win.

Very expected game when 16th ranked Lobos BUAP (7-23) lost to twelfth ranked El Calor (15-15) in Cancun 76-90 on Friday. El Calor looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Venezuelan point guard Heissler Guillent (186-1986) nailed 15 points and 9 assists for the winning side and American forward Arinze Chidom (206-1997, college: UC Riverside) accounted for 21 points. Four El Calor players scored in double figures. El Calor's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-1991, college: UMass) added 19 points respectively for Lobos BUAP in the defeat. El Calor have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Halc.Rojos. Lobos BUAP lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. They share the position with Abejas. El Calor will meet at home Mineros (#13) in the next round. Lobos BUAP will play against Dorados in Chihuahua and hope to secure a win.

Santos outrebounded Freseras 41-29 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Santos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. American players dominated also this game. Soles dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mineros' 24. They outrebounded Mineros 49-29 including a 40-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Soles looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Mineros' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Soles made 7 blocks. American forward Michael Watkins (206-1995, college: Penn State) nailed a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Kenneth Faried (203-1989, college: Morehead St.) accounted for 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Soles players scored in double figures.
