American Torren Jones (206-F/C-1994) had a great game in the last round for Abejas de Leon and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents LNBP Player of the Week award for round 39.
The 30-year old power forward had a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Santos (#11, 14-18) 105-98. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Abejas is placed at 14th position in Mexican LNBP. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Abejas have already lost 24 games and recorded just eight victories. Jones turned to be Abejas' top player in his first season with the team. William Penn University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.3ppg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Jimond Ivey (196-G-1996) of Freseras Irapuato. Ivey impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course Freseras cruised to a 105-96 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Plateros (#8, 18-14). Freseras' 12th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-19 record. Ivey is a newcomer at Freseras and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.3ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 4.7rpg and 4.2apg.

The third best performed player last round was Puerto Rican Jesus Cruz (196-SG-1998) of Santos de San Luis Potosi (#11). Cruz scored 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Despite Cruz's great performance the Santos lost 98-105 to the lower-ranked Abejas (#14, 8-24). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Santos ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 18 games, recording just fourteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Cruz could help Santos to bring them higher in the standings. Cruz has a very solid season. In 16 games in Mexico he scored 10.7ppg.

4. Jamari Wheeler (185-G-1997) of Freseras - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
