Avila's 27 points and 5 assists give her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Gladiana Avila had a great game in the last round for Libelulas and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
She had the game-high 27 points adding two rebounds and five assists for Libelulas in her team's victory, helping them to outclass Toritas (#5, 2-4) with 45-point margin 107-62. Libelulas maintains the 4th position in Mexican LMBPF. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Libelulas will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Avila had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Libelulas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Avila has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 15.7ppg) and averages solid 55.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Melissa Ruiz (162-PG-2002) of Universidad Modelo. She is international guard in her first season at Univ. Modelo. In the last game Ruiz recorded an impressive 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course Univ. Modelo cruised to a 82-74 relatively comfortable win over Penguins (#9, 0-4). Univ. Modelo's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Ruiz is one of the most experienced players at Univ. Modelo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.0ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 7.5rpg and 5.8apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Libelulas' star - guard Paola Beltran (164-PG-1994). Beltran scored 22 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. She was another key player of Libelulas, helping her team with a 107-62 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Toritas (#5, 2-4). Libelulas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Beltran has a great season in Mexico. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.0apg (3rd best). She also has a FGP of 57.1% and 3PT: 42.3%.
