Boulet number one in Mexico LMBPF for round 5

Cuban Center Yayma Boulet (193-C-1984) had a very impressive game in the last round for Libelulas, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 40-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed Toritas (#5, 2-4) with 57-point margin 96-39. Libelulas maintains the 4th position in Mexican LMBPF. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Libelulas will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. Boulet just recently signed at Libelulas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Yayma Boulet has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 15.0ppg), rebounds (7th best: 7.4rpg) and averages impressive 54.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international point guard Melissa Ruiz (162-PG-2002) of Universidad Modelo. Ruiz had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led Univ. Modelo to another comfortable win outscoring Penguins (#9, 0-4) 87-66. Univ. Modelo's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Ruiz is one of the most experienced players at Univ. Modelo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.0ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 7.5rpg and 5.8apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was international Gabriela Castrejon of Las Avispas (#6). Castrejon scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Las Avispas, leading her team to a 62-57 win against slightly lower-ranked Huskys (#7, 1-5). Las Avispas can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Castrejon has a very solid season. In 2 games in Mexico she scored 12.0ppg.

10. Veronica Preciado (174-SG-1997) of Mieleras - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
