Abejas de Leon (LNBPF) added to their roster 30-year old American swingman Sara Dickey (177cm-1995, college: Evansville). It is actually her comeback to Leon as she has played here before. She just played at FCC Baschet Arad in Romanian Liga Nationala. In 9 games she recorded 14.1ppg, 3.4rpg, 1.8apg and 1.6spg last season. She also played for Al Qadisiyah in Saudi Arabian league.
Dickey is quite experienced player. Her career allowed her to visit six different continents, while she played in nine different countries. She tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, Africa and of course North America. Dickey has played previously professionally in Australia (Lightning), Cyprus (Asbis AEL Limassol), Iraq (Ghaz Al-Shamal), Portugal (Boa Viagem and Vitoria SC - Guimaraes), Puerto Rico (Gigantes), Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic (Ostrava) and Egypt (Misr Insurance and El Tayaran).
Among many awards she won Cyprus Division A championship title in 2024. She was voted Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Player of the Year and Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Defensive Player of the Year in 2024.
Dickey graduated from University of Evansville in 2017 and it is her eighth season as a professional player.
