International guard Karim Rodriguez (196-1988) stepped up and scored 21 points for the winners and American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-1992, college: Sacramento St.) chipped in 14 points. Astros' coach Ivan Deniz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Connor Zinaich (201-1997, college: Nova SE) responded with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Tomas Nuno (196-1998, college: CMU) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Tijuana Zonkeys outrebounded Angeles 51-30 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tijuana Zonkeys players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Jaire Grayer (196-1996, college: TCU) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Akia Pruitt (203-1997, college: UNCP) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Guard Terrell Brown (185-1998, college: NM State) came up with 27 points and swingman Will Yoakum (196-1998, college: Nova SE) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Angeles in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
