LNBP Round 2 (Regular Season): Diablos keep a leadership position

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LNBP. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Diablos smashed El Calor at home 105-82. Diablos dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to El Calor's 30 and made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-1994, college: Mount Olive) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 assists. The other American import guard Michael Smith (193-1995, college: CBU) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international forward Jorge Camacho (203-1989, college: EKU) replied with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for El Calor. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Important game to mention about took place in Chihuahua. Dorados saved a 2-point victory at home edging Santos 87-85 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American Tyren Johnson (202-1988, college: Louisiana) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Elijah Clarance chipped in 16 points and 6 assists during the contest. American Terrance Ferguson (198-1997) responded with 19 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dorados will play against Gambusinos in the next round where they are favorite. Santos will play against Halc.Xalapa in Xalapa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 2 Fuerza Regia smashed Correcaminos on the road 98-78. Diablos won against El Calor on its own court 95-86.
The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 17 points and 12 rebounds by Malik Toppin of El Calor.



Dorados - Santos 87-85

Important game to mention about took place in Chihuahua. Dorados saved a 2-point victory at home edging Santos 87-85 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Dorados players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American Tyren Johnson (202-1988, college: Louisiana) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Swedish guard Elijah Clarance (194-1998, college: Illinois St., agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists during the contest. American Terrance Ferguson (198-1997) responded with 19 points and his fellow American import forward Markedric Bell (203-1999, college: PVAMU) scored 17 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dorados will play against Gambusinos in the next round where they are favorite. Santos will play against Halc.Xalapa in Xalapa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Correcaminos - Fuerza Regia 78-98

No shocking result in a game when Fuerza Regia crushed Correcaminos in Ciudad Victoria 98-78. Fuerza Regia made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Guard Avry Holmes (185-1994, college: Clemson) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Lewis Sullivan (201-1995, college: UAB, agency: BIG) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Forward Eric Williams Jr (201-1999, college: San Diego) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and swingman Brandon Spearman (191-1991, college: Hawaii) scored 19 points. Five Fuerza Regia and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fuerza Regia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Correcaminos will play against Mineros in Zacatecas to get more than just one victory in their record.

Very expected game when El Calor lost on the road to Diablos 95-86. Diablos players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Daishon Smith (185-1995, college: ULM) scored 17 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Alphonso Anderson (198-1997, college: Pacific) chipped in 17 points during the contest. American center Malik Toppin (206-1997, college: Salem) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and Argentinian swingman Martin Fernandez (195-1997) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Five Diablos and four El Calor players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
