Round 10 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Diablos (8-2). They were defeated by eighth ranked Gambusinos (5-5) 89-79 on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Diablos. American point guard Kwame Vaughn (190-1990, college: CS Fullerton) scored 30 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard KJ Feagin (185-1997, college: SDSU) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-1994, college: Mount Olive) responded with 12 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gambusinos moved-up to seventh place. Diablos at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Soles. Diablos will play next round against Halc.Xalapa trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Gambusinos will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Fuerza Regia in Monterrey.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Mineros (7-3) against sixth ranked Dorados (6-4) on Tuesday night. Visiting Mineros were defeated by Dorados in Chihuahua 95-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mineros. Even 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists by American-Argentinian guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) did not help to save the game for Mineros. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dorados maintains sixth position with 6-4 record. Mineros at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Fuerza Regia. Dorados will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mineros will play at home against Santos and hope to get back on the winning track.
The game in Cancun supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Soles (8-1) played at the court of 7th ranked El Calor (4-6). Soles smashed El Calor 86-65 on Tuesday.
