The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Soles (11-2) in Chihuahua on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Dorados (9-5) 85-76. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Soles. Dorados made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. American Tyren Johnson (202-1988, college: Louisiana) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points. The other American import power forward Charles Mitchell (203-1993, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 20 points for Soles. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dorados moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Fuerza Regia. Soles at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Dorados is looking forward to face higher ranked Astros (#4) in Guadalajara in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Soles will play at home against Santos and are hoping to win this game.

Seventh ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (6-8) got a very close victory on the road over 13th ranked Correcaminos (3-11). Halcones UV Xalapa managed to escape with a 1-point win 89-88 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Fernando Zurbriggen notched 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by Charles Garcia did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. Halc.Xalapa maintains seventh position with 6-8 record, which they share with El Calor. Correcaminos lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Freseros. Halc.Xalapa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Correcaminos will play against El Calor (#7) and hope to secure a win.
