Best players of Mexican LNBP round 16

Experienced American Taylor Johnson (193-G-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for Correcaminos UAT Victoria and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents LNBP Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 31-year old guard had the game-high 26 points adding three rebounds and three assists for Correcaminos in his team's victory, helping them to edge out El Calor (#9, 6-10) 85-83. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Correcaminos is placed at 11th position in Mexican LNBP. Correcaminos is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-11 record. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Correcaminos' top player in his first season with the team. Dartmouth College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in points (9th best: 13.7ppg) and averages solid 58.5% FGP and 47.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Argentinian point guard Fernando Zurbriggen (185-PG-1997) of Halcones UV Xalapa. Zurbriggen impressed basketball fans with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Halcones UV Xalapa lost that game 79-98 to the higher-ranked Fuerza Regia (#5, 11-5). This loss caused Halc.Xalapa to drop to 10th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-10 record. Zurbriggen is a newcomer at Halc.Xalapa and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Shannon Shorter (193-SG-1989) of Fuerza Regia Monterrey (#5). Shorter scored 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was a key player of Fuerza Regia, leading his team to a 97-96 win against the lower-ranked Halc.Xalapa (#10, 6-10). Fuerza Regia needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 5 lost games. Shorter has a very solid season. In 16 games in Mexico he scored 10.3ppg. He also has 3.3apg and a FGP of 55.7%.
